We’re seeking a senior BD specialist to win new business across upstream, midstream, and downstream markets. You will own the full deal cycle—from mapping target accounts and opening doors at well-known oil & gas companies to qualifying opportunities, driving tender participation (EOIs, RFIs, RFPs, RFQs/ITTs), and orchestrating winning bids with technical, legal, finance, and HSE teams. Fluency in English is required; additional regional languages are a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Account Development: Identify, prioritize, and develop relationships with supermajors, NOCs, IOCs, EPC/EPCm firms, and key service companies; maintain a robust coverage plan and contact map.
Pipeline & Prospecting: Proactively outreach (calls, email, LinkedIn, events) to C-level, procurement, and engineering stakeholders; secure discovery meetings and capability presentations.
Tender Management: Monitor and register for tenders on client portals (e.g., SAP Ariba, Ivalua, Coupa, ADIPEC/ADIPEC Connect, ADNOC, Aramco, QatarEnergy, KOC, NIOC, BP, Shell, TotalEnergies, Eni, Chevron); lead bid/no-bid, compliance checklists, and submission calendars.
Bid Development: Coordinate technical and commercial proposals with engineering, supply chain, and finance; draft executive summaries, value propositions, delivery schedules, and commercial terms (Incoterms, payment terms, LDs, warranties).
Pricing & Negotiation: Build pricing models and margin scenarios; negotiate MSAs, frame agreements, distributor/reseller terms, and NDAs in alignment with company policy.
Stakeholder Orchestration: Run internal bid kickoffs and color reviews; align with QA/QC, HSE, and legal (FCPA/UK Bribery Act compliance) for prequalification and vendor registration.
Forecasting & Reporting: Own CRM hygiene (e.g., Salesforce/HubSpot/MS Dynamics), weekly forecasts, win/loss analysis, and market intelligence briefs.
Brand & Events: Represent the company at industry conferences and client visits; support case studies and reference wins.
Required Qualifications
6–10+ years in business development, sales, or tendering within oil & gas (upstream/midstream/downstream) or energy equipment/services.
Proven record contacting and closing with well-known O&G companies (supermajors/NOCs/EPCs) and navigating complex procurement processes.
Hands-on experience with tendering: ITT/RFQ/RFP compliance, bid books, technical/commercial alignment, and portal submissions.
Strong commercial acumen: pricing, contract structures (EPC, EPCC, LSTK, Frame Agreements, MSAs), and risk assessment.
Fluent English (spoken/written). Excellent proposal writing and presentation skills.
Proficiency with CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot/MS Dynamics), Excel/Sheets (financial models), and PowerPoint.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred or equivalent experience).
