Job Title
Wood is currently seeking expression of interest for a competent PMC Lead Systems Engineer responsible for leading and delivering the overall ICSS activities of the PMC contract to Wood and client's satisfaction. Please note that at this stage, applications for this role are invited as an Expression of Interest (EOI) whilst opportunities are being fully determined. Responsibilities - Review and comment PFD / P&ID for any control / interlock /safety related representations - Participating in HAZOP / SIL review meeting. Implementing safety instrument design as per review reports - Implementing safety instrument design as per HAZOP / SIL review reports, performing the calculation of SIL definitions and preparing safety requirement specifications - Update of P&ID and instrument structure design for the SIL requirements - Preparation / review / development of specifications of DCS / SIS / F&G systems and any other PLC related systems - Preparation of system architecture for DCS, SIS, F&G, or any other control systems - Preparation of material requisitions for DCS / SIS / F&G systems, SCADA or any other control systems required for the project - Preparation of technical bid evaluations of suppliers’ proposal for control systems - Preparation of the control system requirement for package units; supporting package specialists for MR, technical clarification and bid evaluations, document review and approval. Coordinating the interfaces between package unit control system and plant control systems - Review and approval of suppliers’ hardware and software configuration designs - Review and approve vendor documents for incorporation into the design and co-ordination with other disciplines. Provide the input to other disciplines, such as electrical consumption for electrical power supply design, heat dissipation for ACMV design, weight and dimension for civil / architecture design - Ensure that all comments are consistent and are included in the drawings according to the applicable procedure - Preparation of cause and effect matrix, logic diagrams, control narratives and safety narratives, any other necessary control and safety systems related documents for the system configurations - Instruct and advise instrument design team for the control system hardware and cabling installation design, system cabinet earthing and grounding design - Instruct and advise instrument engineering team for the control system configuration data requirements, check data quality and manage the data exchanges with systems suppliers - Perform the calculation of SIL verifications and revise the instrument design structures where required - Review and check the all the activities and documents required for the lifecycles of the safety instrumented system - Design of control room layout - Review / comment / approval of supplier’s test procedures, attend and manage FAT / IFAT / SAT and follow up with any punch list - Interface with clients, vendor’s representatives and project field personnel. This role is to be based in Abu Dhabi for 12 months contract with a possibility to be permanent. Facilitate the resolution of deviations. - Prepare schedule forecasts and monthly progress reports for input to management reporting. - Validate contractor’s baseline/ progress measurement system/ schedule memorandums. - Produce project earned value analysis, S-Curves, Dashboards, Skylines, Rundowns and Histograms - Asses and coordinate recovery / target plans as required and evaluate the impact of change on approved project schedules. - Lead the shutdown planning effort involving detailed level 5 system / subsystem activity logic. - Assist in the development of graduate planning engineers. - Verify payment milestones with contractor, solve issues/ queries. - Prepare cost forecasts and work in place (WIP) estimates. - Verify change requests for EPC contractor and develop Owners cost estimates. - Identify potential changes for the project and estimate impact on completion costs. - Evaluate contractors change proposals, analyze financial impacts for the project. - Assist with facilitation of change management process working closely with the Contract Administrator. - Produce contract cost reports, estimates to complete and contract cost curves. - Review procurement status reports and highlight risks. - Monitor status and validate durations for manufacture / delivery lead times and impacts to ROS dates. - Ensure alignment between procurement data and P6 schedule. - Review contractor weekly / monthly report/ MoMs, update with Contract Administrator and co-ordinating with contractor to verify any issues. - Review & analysis of Extension of Time claims - Highlight potential schedule exposures to project management team.
