Responsibilities and Duties:
• Develop, implement, and maintain system security.
• Oversee set-up, installation and maintenance of computers and servers used for programs and projects.
• Plan, organize, and negotiate with vendors to facilitate acquisition of necessary technology hardware and software.
• Evaluate interface among hardware, software, operational and performance requirements.
• Maintain LAN, WAN, and Internet server software, and provide necessary maintenance and upgrades.
• troubleshoot and correct network system problems.
• Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed drawings for network architecture.
• Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Support, troubleshoot, install, and configure routers, switches, firewalls, UTMs, analyzers, and wireless devices.
• Participating in the daily planning, tracking, scheduling, and execute project tasks and general network operations activities.
• Lead small and medium-size project initiatives and provides technical expertise to network staff. Conduct feasibility studies and participates in the development of technical standards.
• Diagnosing, resolving, and documenting hardware and software network problems quickly and accurately.
• Network engineer Design and implement complex networking solutions over a large enterprise-level network. The person should be able to troubleshoot difficult or chronic problems and identifies both short and long-term solutions.
• Lead Network infrastructure support efforts, making sure all connected equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
• Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
Knowledge & Skills:
• VMware administration and troubleshooting, Microsoft Windows Domain administration including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, terminal services, IIS, Group Policy, Printing, and Exchange technologies.
• Requires excellent personnel management and communication skills, conduct training and facilitating small group processes, and coordinate and communicate with other departments in the district to achieve a common goal.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role
• Working knowledge of Cisco routers and switches
• Working knowledge of Fortinet firewalls and Kerio UTM
• Working knowledge of VoIP solutions
• Strong knowledge of networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
• Experience with security, data protection, and disaster recovery protocol.
• Expert knowledge of Exchange Server administration
