Wood in the UAE is looking to expand its Engineering capabilities in Abu Dhabi to address a significant pipeline of Offshore Oil and Gas facilities expansion projects, building on the current local capabilities and the wide experience available in the other Wood centers of excellence including in the UK and USA. In support of this plan, we are looking for experienced Lead Piping Engineers with proven track record in the marine environment with ADNOC and other client in the Middle East and globally. Main Job Purpose - Project coordination of Piping team and reporting to Project or Engineering Manager on project related matters - Act as Piping Lead Engineer for the project. - Planning, scheduling and execution of discipline activities and deliverables, including manhour estimating when requested. - Manage discipline work to the required schedule and manpower allocation, including requesting personnel as identified by the plan, and day-to-day supervision of piping discipline personnel on the project. This includes approval of timesheets, holiday approval and overtime approval where delegated - Review project Basis of Design (BOD) and Project Execution Plan (PEP) - Liaise with project team, client, fabricator / installer or other parties as required to determine and impliment piping project reporting needs - Ensure the piping project reporting format adheres to Wood and Client standards and procedures - Report on work status /problem areas / needs on a weekly and monthly basis. - Perform Piping Design activities, including checking, as required in accordance with the Operation of Discipline proecedure - Ensure all project documentation is checked in accordance with the Operation of Discipline procedure - Coordinating with all disciplines (as necessary) in the preparation and development of project deliverables and ensuring that other disciplines’ input is incorporated - Ensure Piping 3D model and / or 2D package quality and completeness - Review Piping 3D model and / or 2D package to confirm adherence to Wood and Client standards and procedures, utilising 3D design software tools as appropriate - Perform periodic overall model reviews to assure level of content. Reviews for overall completeness, general safety issues, access and egress, materials handling scheme is being adhered to, maintenance and operability - Ensures the project Piping team is meeting the requirements for formal and informal Engineering / Client 3D model review(s) as per Wood / Client procedures. - Work with the 3D CAD Coordinator to assure that project is closed out properly upon completion

Incorporating check and IDC comments - Acting as approver/checker for all discipline deliverables - Coordinates with all disciplines (as necessary) in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring that the other disciplines’ input is incorporated - Reviews the Basis of Design (BOD) and the Project Execution Plan (PEP) - Ensures structural compliance with structural specifications as well as applicable code requirements and national /international standards - Prepares enquiry requisitions, evaluates bids, prepares technical bid evaluations and manages bid clarifications - Checks/ approves structural weight estimation for input into the project weight report - Responsible for interface with Client and external third parties such as Installation Contractor, Fabrication and Verification Contractors, coordinates meetings and handles responses arising from these interfaces - Performs preliminary sizing of structural steel to provide preliminary input into layout group - Review all relevant client provided data for structural implications and requirements. - Reports on work status/ problem areas / needs - Liaison with and reporting to Project Management and Client

Key Accountabilities: - Ensure technical compliance, accuracy, quality and execution of all aspects of offshore pipeline design at conceptual, FEED and EPC / PMC level - Lead assigned engineers to provide the full range of pipeline services required in oil and gas projects at conceptual FEED and EPC / PMC level - Carry out, review, approve and/or supervise study and design work. - Provide assistance to other disciplines and participate in review meetings, in accordance with Project requirements. - Develop, review, and take responsibility for the accuracy of detailed calculations and deliverables such as tie-in spool and riser design, route selection, wall thickness design, on-bottom stability, spans analysis, pipeline expansion, on-bottom roughness, global buckling and cathodic protection design. - Review and audit activity on projects and support internal development and continuous improvement activities as required. - Support and perform appraisal activities within the group. - Provide technical expertise and support to business development activities and proposal preparations. - Review contracts, identify and understand Scope of Work & Gaps; Advise on corrective measures accordingly. - Managing internal & external interfaces (Client, Inter-departmental, Engineering-Subcontractor & Vendors) - Identification of gap/conflicts amongst various project information, specifications/drawings & recommend corrective measures to ensure design integrity.
