Signaling Firewall Team Leader (Vendor)

Mission
·       To ensure the security, stability, and compliance of signaling networks by leading the configuration, monitoring, and enhancement of signaling firewall systems across legacy and next-generation telecom protocols.

·       To empower and guide the signaling firewall team in detecting and mitigating advanced telecom-specific threats through technical supervision, cross-functional coordination, and proactive vulnerability management.
Roles & Responsibilities
·       To monitor signaling traffic flows to identify abnormal patterns and potential security breaches.

·       To lead daily inspection tasks on signaling firewall systems to ensure platform stability and early detection of vulnerabilities.

·       To coordinate with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to escalate signaling threats for timely response and mitigation.

·       To supervise configuration changes on firewall rules to enhance protection against emerging signaling threats.

·       To analyze protocol-specific attack scenarios (e.g., SS7 flooding, Diameter manipulation) to support defensive policy updates.

·       To support team members during incident analysis to ensure accurate root cause identification and reporting.

·       To verify the correct implementation of signaling policies to maintain compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

·       To collaborate with Core Network and Transport teams to align firewall behavior with end-to-end signaling paths.

·       To review team performance regularly to identify gaps and provide technical coaching for capacity building.

·       To manage the signaling firewall logs and alerts to extract actionable intelligence for continuous threat hunting.

·       To participate in design discussions to ensure security-by-design principles are applied in new signaling infrastructures.

·       To update documentation and playbooks regularly to reflect changes in firewall architecture and threat models.

·       To coordinate periodic testing of firewall rules and failover scenarios to ensure business continuity and system resilience.

·       To conduct vulnerability assessments on signaling interfaces to recommend preventive actions before exploitation.

·       To report critical findings and status updates to the immediate manager to support strategic security planning.

 


Job Requirements
 

Education
·       Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Technology Systems (Telecommunication Management / Information Technology) or related 
 

Experience
·    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in core domain with good understanding of telecommunication, CS/IMS core and IP

·   Experience working in a medium organization
