Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate VoIP Engineer to join our team. As a VoIP Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining VoIP telecommunications systems. You will ensure the systems operate efficiently and effectively, provide support to end-users, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, install, configure, and maintain the voice infrastructure, including making hardware and software recommendations
- End-to-end installation and configuration of VICIdial on Linux-based servers (such as CentOS or Ubuntu)
- Configure forecasting systems and automatic contact systems for outbound campaigns
- Set up incoming call queues, IVR systems, and hybrid call routing solutions
- Install, configure, and optimize ViciPhone (WebRTC-based phone software) for use by users on VICIdial
- Ensure proper parsing in VICIdial for correlating user performance
- Configure and debug SIP trunks to route calls through VoIP providers
- Ensure compatibility with VoIP provisioning and routing for both incoming and outgoing calls
- Monitor call quality, optimize call performance, reduce delay, and improve system performance
- Implement security measures including firewall configuration, IP whitelisting, and traffic encryption (TLS/SRTP) to secure VoIP communications
- Set up backups and disaster recovery plans, including recovery strategies, for VICIdial servers
- Configure MySQL databases for call reporting and analysis in VICIdial
- Set up and customize real-time and historical reports for user performance monitoring
- Provide ongoing support for VoIP-related issues including call quality, system crashes, and user connectivity
- Troubleshoot VoIP, WebRTC, and network issues including NAT, codecs, and SIP-related problems
- Create detailed documentation for system installations, user manuals, and management guidelines
- Train IT teams and provide support in managing and resolving VICIdial bugs
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in installing and configuring VoIP systems
- Practical experience in installing, configuring, and customizing VICIdial
- Experience with ViciPhone (WebRTC) integration in VICIdial
- Working knowledge of the Asterisk PBX system and related technologies
- Proficiency in managing Linux servers (CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Deep understanding of the SIP protocol, including the configuration and troubleshooting of SIP trunks
- Familiarity with VoIP codecs (such as G.711 and G.729) and voice optimization techniques
- Experience with MySQL database management
- Knowledge of firewall configuration, network security, and VoIP setup
- Familiarity with WebRTC, HTML5, and phone software technologies
- Knowledge of Apache, PHP, and Postfix for VICIdial web interface
- Familiarity with call center operations, expected call standards, and technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
