As a Senior Backend Developer at Wallgold, you will play a key role in building and scaling a secure, reliable, and high-performance platform for online gold trading. You’ll work on core backend systems that handle financial transactions, user wallets, and real-time trading features — ensuring speed, scalability, and data integrity across the platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using PHP (Laravel).
- Optimize system performance for large-scale financial transactions
- Design and implement RESTful APIs with best-practice security standards
- Collaborate closely with Frontend, DevOps, and Product teams to deliver new features
- Design and maintain relational databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL)
- Implement and monitor logging, caching, and error-tracking systems (Elastic, Redis, Sentry, Prometheus, etc.)
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability
- Participate in code reviews, enforce clean-code principles, and mentor junior developers
- Ensure data protection and secure communication for all financial operations
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend development (preferably in fintech or payment systems)
- Strong proficiency in PHP (Laravel or Symfony)
- Excellent knowledge of SQL database design and optimization
- Familiarity with microservices and event-driven architectures
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
- Solid understanding of security practices: JWT, OAuth2, SSL, encryption, and data protection
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Team player with a sense of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset
