Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Infrastructure and VMware Virtualization Administrator to manage and optimize our IT infrastructure, including virtualized environments, networking, and Linux/Windows-based systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in VMware administration, infrastructure management, and ensuring the performance and reliability of infrastructure services.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Infrastructure and VMware Virtualization Administrator to manage and optimize our IT infrastructure, including virtualized environments, networking, and Linux/Windows-based systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in VMware administration, infrastructure management, and ensuring the performance and reliability of infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities:
- VMware Administration:
- Manage VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and related products.
- Install, configure, and maintain virtualized environments.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups for VMware infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot VMware virtualization issues, including network, storage, and performance problems.
- Infrastructure Administration:
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
- Ensure high availability and performance of server infrastructure.
- Set up and manage containerized applications with Docker.
- Oversee backup and disaster recovery for virtual and physical servers.
- Networking:
- Configure Mikrotik routers and network infrastructure.
- Implement network security strategies (firewalls, VPNs).
- Perform network troubleshooting and optimize performance.
- DNS Management:
- Administer DNS services and troubleshoot resolution issues.
- Work with network teams to manage DNS for high availability.
- Automation and Monitoring:
- Use automation tools (Ansible, PowerShell) for system management.
- Set up and maintain infrastructure monitoring tools (Zabbix, VMware vRealize).
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain documentation on infrastructure, network configurations, and virtual environments.
- Generate performance and incident reports.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with IT security, development, and other teams.
- Provide technical support for internal teams and troubleshoot issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- Experience in VMware virtualization (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi).
- Strong skills in Windows Server administration (Active Directory, DNS, IIS).
- Proficiency with Linux system administration (Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Experience with Mikrotik routers and containerization technologies (Docker).
- Networking:
- Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPN).
- Experience with network security protocols.
- Scripting and Automation:
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for infrastructure issues.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of security best practices for virtual environments.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in systems administration and virtualization.
- Experience managing both Linux and Windows environments.
