The Business Development Director leads the organization’s growth agenda by developing, refining, and executing the company’s business strategy. This role oversees the Business Development department, which includes Strategy, Project Control, Processes, Budget, and Planning, ensuring strategic decisions are translated into executable plans and operational outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of the company’s business strategy.
- Conduct market, competitive, and industry analyses to identify opportunities and inform strategic direction.
- Translate strategic objectives into operational roadmaps with clear priorities, timelines, and success metrics.
- Supervise the Strategy team and ensure high-quality strategic outputs and insights for executive decision-making.
- Oversee the Project Control function and ensure successful execution of key strategic projects.
- Align project delivery with strategic priorities and business outcomes.
- Establish transparent reporting mechanisms for tracking progress, risks, and performance indicators.
- Ensure cross-departmental alignment in the execution of major initiatives.
- Design, optimize, and standardize core business processes to improve efficiency and performance.
- Lead organizational improvement initiatives and drive process excellence across the company.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Business Development department and related areas.
- Lead the annual budgeting and business planning cycle in coordination with Finance and Executive leadership.
- Ensure budgets are directly aligned with strategic plans and corporate priorities.
- Oversee performance tracking, budget adherence, and variance analysis.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, markets, and strategic partnerships.
- Lead high-level negotiations and manage key external relationships.
- Prioritize and manage the portfolio of growth initiatives based on strategic value and feasibility.
Requirments:
- Proven expertise in strategic planning, competitive analysis, and strategy execution.
- Strong ability to convert strategic goals into detailed operational plans.
- 7–10+ years of experience in Strategy, Business Development, Management Consulting, or Project Leadership.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing senior stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience in high-growth, fast-paced, or startup environments preferred (aviation/tech can be added if you wish).
