About this Role

In this role, you will

• Architect, build, and maintain high-performance, secure backend services.
• Design APIs, data models, and infrastructure to support evolving product needs.
• Devise innovative web-crawling solutions and build lightweight systems on demand.
• Integrate with third-party APIs (e.g., Stripe, OpenAI, Google Cloud services).
• Implement caching strategies, queuing, and observability.
• Containerize services with Docker and contribute to deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, database admin, and other partners to ship cohesive, end-to-end solutions.
• Uphold code quality through reviews, testing, documentation, and CI/CD.

You might thrive in this role if you

• Have strong experience (3+ years) building backend systems in Python.
• Are proficient with ORMs and have hands-on experience with SQLAlchemy or Drizzle.
• Have built and maintained RESTful APIs with FastAPI and are comfortable with common server protocols.
• Understand algorithms and data structures (graphs, heaps, trees, linked lists).
• Are familiar with design patterns, OOP, and SOLID principles.
• Know server-side caching concepts (TTL and expiration, validation via ETag, Last-Modified).
• Experienced in maintaining systems with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, New Relic).
• Can work with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) and Redis.
• Communicate effectively in English and enjoy collaborating with partners abroad.
• Bring a learning mindset, practice critical thinking and problem solving and enjoy chaos!

Nice to have

• Familiarity with frontend concepts.
• Exposure to machine learning and deep learning.
• Knowledge of deployment strategies and traffic splitting.
• Previous experience with Google Cloud Platform.
