Position Overview
We are hiring a Chief Accountant to oversee accounting and financial operations for our U.S.-based real estate and hospitality portfolio. This is a remote position and the right candidate will be a self-driven, detail-oriented, and intellectually sharp professional who ensures that “everything gets done” — accurately, efficiently, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage and reconcile multi-entity accounting records in QuickBooks (training will be provided if needed).
· Oversee financials for approximately 10 LLCs, preparing monthly P&L statements, cash flow reports, and balance sheets.
· Monitor intercompany transactions and ensure centralized expense tracking and documentation.
· Implement and maintain financial controls, ensure error-free data integrity, and build automation processes to increase efficiency.
· Prepare financial documentation for audits and support compliance with U.S. and Iranian standards (in collaboration with the company’s U.S.-based CPA and local advisors).
· Provide actionable financial insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
· Spot irregularities or potential fraud, and proactively recommend improvements in processes or systems.
· Utilize AI and modern finance tools to streamline reporting, reconciliation, and analysis.
Work Schedule
Days: Saturday to Wednesday
Hours: 9:30 – 14:00 and 17:00 – 20:30 (Tehran time)
*Be available for urgent coordination calls during California working hours (PST/PDT).
Requirements
· Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· At least 2-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or controllership roles within SMEs or multi-entity organizations.
· Proficiency in Iranian accounting systems (Rahkaran, Sepidar, or similar).
· Advanced Excel / Google Sheets and financial analysis skills.
· Experience in financial consolidation, intercompany reconciliation, and reporting.
· Highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented.
· Strong ethical standards, confidentiality, and ownership.
· Creative thinker able to leverage AI tools to optimize financial processes.
Nice to Have
· Experience in real estate, hospitality, or investment portfolio accounting.
· Familiarity with U.S. tax and compliance concepts.
· Experience working remotely with international teams.
· Familiarity with remote desktop tools (e.g., Splashtop) and collaborative platforms.
