CS/IMS Core Planning Engineer (Vendor)

Mission
·       To design the core network Circuit Switch (CS)/IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture considering the short/long term vision of the company and alignment with marketing and financial aspects. 

·       To prepare /audit core network CS/IMS high-level and detailed design.


Roles & Responsibilities :

·       To establish proper interaction with other departments (ITS, EB, MKT, RA, ...) to coordinate impacts of core CS/IMS planning.

·       To monitor CS/IMS Core NW traffic and optimization of the core network considering capacity and performance aspects.

·       To participate in initiating and forecasting the necessary augmentation in capital projects of the CS/IMS core network taking into consideration changes in the regulatory environment and technology/product roadmaps of the relevant supplier(s) 

·       To support in aligning the CS/IMS core planning activities with developments in the industry and devising viable solutions considering the financial constraints of the company.

·       To provide effective core network Circuit switching (CS) solutions and dimensioning to cater to the subscribers’ growth, new services, and features.

·       To prepare/audit CS/IMS core network elements BoQ and discuss with the vendors for optimal Capex solutions.

·       To liaise with suppliers and vendors on network requirements to support the agreed network operational and expansion demands and detailed CS/IMS core network planning and database planning of core elements

·       To ensure sufficient CS/IMS core network capacity is deployed with a 6-month headroom to cater to the traffic forecast. 

·       To contribute to designing and planning VM expansion and capacity management related to each component of NFV and provide the solution for networking and virtualized networking.

·       To control and monitor NFV parts related to cloud HSS, vIMS, and Vsps in terms of software and hardware capacity

·       To document methodologies, plans, policies, and procedures for CS/IMS core network planning, record keeping of technical details on network design, implementation plans, and capital projects.

·       To prepare and provide documented recommendations to various departments (RA, ITS Platforms, Billing-Charging, Network departments, etc.) by studying global trends and networking with other professionals in this field. 

·       To analyze the impact of VAS /Billing Charging services on CS/IMS core network planning and to mold the plans accordingly

·       To design the interconnection and routing to PSTN and other PLMN to provide interworking function.

·       To engage in teamwork and knowledge sharing with other team members to focus on new technologies and nodes.


Job Requirements:
 

Education
·        BSc in Technology Systems (Electrical Engineering / Telecommunication Management / Information Technology) or related
 

Experience
·       Minimum 3 years in a Telecom environment, preferably in a GSM planning and network design environment with experience on value-added voice services.

·       Knowledge of operation core NEs.

·       Experience working in a medium organization
