Overview:
As a Category Specialist, you will support the execution of pricing, promotions, and category-level initiatives that improve customer satisfaction and category growth. Your insights and follow-through will help optimize assortment and build value for both users and vendor partners.
Responsibilities
1. Category Monitoring & Analysis
- Track and analyze category performance metrics such as GMV, take rate, and commission revenue.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards to highlight trends, opportunities, and issues.
- Provide actionable insights to support category improvement initiatives.
2. Assortment Support & Improvement
- Assist in implementing assortment strategies to ensure a balanced product mix across price tiers and customer needs.
- Identify gaps in the assortment and propose improvement plans to optimize category performance.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure product availability and visibility.
3. Revenue & Promotional Support
- Support the execution of category-level promotional campaigns.
- Monitor the effectiveness of promotions and provide recommendations for future initiatives.
- Help optimize pricing and discount strategies to maximize commission revenue and category growth.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Product, and Data teams to support category initiatives.
- Ensure timely execution of category-related tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and numerical ability with proficiency in Excel and BI tools.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to monitor and track category performance metrics.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on approach with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–4 years of experience in category management, commercial planning, or merchandising — ideally in FMCG or online marketplace environments.
- Experience in supporting category revenue, assortment, and promotional initiatives.
