Senior QA Specialist (Manual / Functional Testing) – Remote
About the Role:
We’re hiring a Senior QA Specialist to ensure the reliability and quality of our fast-evolving logistics and warehouse software platforms. In this role, you’ll become an expert in how our systems work — not just technically, but functionally — and play a hands-on role in validating every release before it reaches production.
Rather than focusing on automated testing, this position is centered on understanding the product, actively using the platform, and identifying potential issues through rigorous manual and exploratory testing.
This is a remote, full-time role (174 hours/month), with close collaboration across our teams in Canada, Iran, India, and the Philippines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the product from a real-user perspective.
- Perform end-to-end manual testing of web and mobile applications to ensure functionality, usability, and stability.
- Execute and maintain structured test cases and test scenarios for new features, bug fixes, and regression cycles.
- Identify, document, and report bugs with clear reproduction steps and severity ratings.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to clarify requirements, test edge cases, and ensure quality at each stage.
- Work with backend and frontend teams to validate system behavior and data flow.
- Participate in sprint planning and reviews in an agile environment.
- Track issues using tools like JIRA, monitor progress, and support teams in reproducing and fixing bugs.
- Provide thoughtful feedback on usability, edge cases, and unexpected behaviors.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in software testing or QA roles.
- Strong experience in manual functional testing, especially in complex systems.
- Ability to quickly understand workflows, user logic, and edge case behaviors.
- High attention to detail and critical thinking mindset.
- Familiarity with test case management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional agile teams.
Nice to Have: - Basic knowledge of automated testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.)
- Experience with API testing (e.g., using Postman).
- Familiarity with SQL and validating data integrity.
- Exposure to testing mobile apps (iOS and Android).
- Understanding of performance or security testing concepts.
Role Details:
- Type: Full-time, Remote
- Hours: 174 hours/month (tracked via Time Doctor)
- Location: Remote – with teams across Canada, Iran, India, and the Philippines
- Environment: Agile, collaborative, and product-focused
