We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our experienced backend team and help evolve the platforms behind our digital health products. This is an opportunity to contribute to robust, data-intensive services and see your work have a direct, positive impact on thousands of people.
What You Will Do
- Work as part of our backend team to design, develop, and improve the services that power our products
- Collaborate closely with our mobile, front-end, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable features end to end
- Contribute to the design and implementation of data analysis and processing services as backend components
- Maintain and refactor existing services to improve performance, reliability, and developer experience
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and planning sessions in an agile environment
Technical Responsibilities
- Develop backend services using Nest.js and advanced Node.js concepts including Dependency Injection, Middleware, Interceptors, Guards, Pipes, and Filters
- Apply TypeScript, SOLID principles, clean code practices, and modular architecture
- Work with both microservice and monolithic architectures and choose the appropriate approach based on requirements
- Use Prisma ORM for schema design, relational mapping, and migrations
- Work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis in production environments
- Design and document RESTful APIs using Swagger or OpenAPI
- Implement automated tests including unit, integration, and end to end using Jest or similar tools
- Manage repositories and CI or CD pipelines using GitLab
- Implement authentication and authorization using JWT, refresh tokens, and role based access control
- Apply backend security best practices including rate limiting, input validation, and sanitization
- Use Docker and containerized environments for development and deployment
- Design domain driven modules and implement modern architectural patterns such as CQRS and event driven design
What We Are Looking For
- Four or more years of professional backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Production experience with Nest.js
- Strong understanding of clean, modular architecture and maintainable code
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and ORMs such as Prisma
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and documentation
- Understanding of backend security concepts and authentication or authorization mechanisms
- Experience working in agile or scrum teams
- Good communication skills in English and an interest in healthcare and data-driven products
