We are a dynamic and rapidly growing tech company at the forefront of the VOD streaming industry and looking for an experienced “Senior Android Developer” to join our organization to work together on our VOD product.
As a Senior Android Developer, you will play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of our applications. Your primary focus will be on creating pixel-perfect user interfaces and optimizing the app for Android TV. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend developers, to deliver an exceptional streaming experience to our users.
As a Senior Android Developer, you will play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of our applications. Your primary focus will be on creating pixel-perfect user interfaces and optimizing the app for Android TV. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend developers, to deliver an exceptional streaming experience to our users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain high-quality Android applications.
- Design and implement user interfaces that are intuitive, visually appealing, and optimized for Android TV.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design mockups into responsive, high-performance code.
- Ensure the application is robust, scalable, and performs well on a variety of Android devices, especially Android TV.
- Work with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and other backend services.
- Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and debug code as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in Android development and VOD streaming services.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical leadership and support.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in Android application development.
- Proven experience in building pixel-perfect user interfaces for Android applications.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
- Solid understanding of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
- Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to backend services.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
- Experience with automated testing and building CI/CD pipelines for Android apps.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Android TV application development and optimization.
- Experience in the VOD or streaming service industry.
- Familiarity with ExoPlayer or other video streaming libraries.
- Knowledge of DRM, video codecs, and streaming protocols.
