About the Role:

We are looking for a Data Engineer to build and maintain the core data infrastructure of Melli Gold.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing reliable data pipelines, establishing a single source of truth for financial metrics, and enabling teams across the company to make data-driven decisions with confidence.

This role sits at the heart of the business and works closely with finance, trading, product, and analytics teams to ensure that data is accurate, timely, and production-ready.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data architectures and data pipelines for high-volume financial and transactional data
• Build and maintain batch and near real-time data pipelines to consolidate data from core systems and external sources
• Establish and maintain a Single Source of Truth for key business and financial metrics (transactions, balances, margins, profit & loss)
• Collaborate closely with analytics, product, finance, trading, and business teams to enable data-driven decision-making
• Design and optimize data models (fact & dimension tables) for analytical and reporting use cases
• Optimize queries, storage, and data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Support analytical and reporting platforms by ensuring data accuracy, availability, and consistency
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting to detect anomalies and data issues early
• Ensure data security, consistency, and compliance with internal governance and financial requirements
• Participate in data-centric initiatives with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability

Qualification:

• Hands-on experience in Data Engineering and building production-grade data pipelines in data-intensive environments
• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, ETL / ELT processes, and data modeling for analytical workloads
• Experience working with transactional and financial data; familiarity with FinTech systems is a strong advantage
• Proficiency in at least one relational database used in core systems (e.g., PostgreSQL)
• Experience with analytical databases and OLAP systems such as ClickHouse or similar technologies
• Familiarity with CDC, streaming, or data replication concepts (experience with tools like GoldenGate, Kafka, or similar is a plus, not a must)
• Experience supporting BI and analytics tools (e.g., Metabase, Power BI, or similar), with a clear understanding of the boundary between data engineering and analytics
• Ability to optimize data models and queries for large-scale analytical and reporting workloads
• Strong attention to data quality, correctness, and financial accuracy
• High attention to detail, strong learning mindset, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional, data-driven teams
