Job Description
Alibaba is seeking a Marketing Data Analyst to turn data into insights that sharpen our marketing strategy and execution. This role is critical for measuring impact, improving efficiency, and enabling smarter, data-driven decision-making across both performance and brand marketing.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and deeply familiar with digital marketing disciplines and channels. They will partner with performance and brand teams to optimize campaigns, uncover customer insights, and identify growth opportunities that strengthen Alibaba’s position as the leading OTA in Iran.
Reponsibilities:
- Collect, structure, and analyze marketing data from multiple channels (web, app, SEO, paid acquisition, ECRM, social, etc.).
- Build and maintain dashboards to track KPIs, campaign performance, and user behavior.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all sources and reports.
- Measure the effectiveness and ROI of marketing activities, providing actionable recommendations.
- Support channel owners (SEO, Paid, ECRM, etc.) with insights to improve targeting, messaging, and conversion rates.
- Contribute to A/B test design, execution, and evaluation for campaigns, creatives, and landing pages.
- Segment audiences and analyze customer journeys to support personalization and retention strategies.
- Conduct cohort analysis to identify churn risks, LTV growth drivers, and cross-sell/upsell opportunities.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for marketing and business stakeholders.
- Partner with performance, brand, and product teams to align analysis with business goals.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, compelling way.
- Explore advanced analytics and AI-driven methods to forecast trends and improve campaign efficiency.
- Continuously research marketing analytics best practices to strengthen Alibaba’s data-driven edge.
- Support marketing attribution and forecasting models
Requirements
- 3+ years of proven experience as a data analyst, marketing analyst, or similar role.
- Strong skills in SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
- Solid understanding of digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, ECRM, etc.).
- Experience with digital marketing platforms (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Webengage, etc.).
- Strong grasp of marketing KPIs (CAC, ROAS, LTV, retention, funnels).
- Ability to turn raw data into clear stories and visual reports.
- Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and incrementally testing.
- Experience working with data warehouses and ETL processes. (nice to have)
- Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics (nice to have).
- Extra Advantage: Background in performance marketing and hands-on experience with campaign optimization.
