About Faunus
Faunus is a private research group that powers the Research & Development arm of Argoman. Our mission is to study collective behavior in living organisms to inspire novel, biologically grounded solutions to complex real-world problems. Currently, our primary model organism is Physarum polycephalum, a slime mold renowned for its decentralized intelligence and efficiency in network optimization.

About the Role  
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Lead Researcher to guide high-impact experimental and theoretical research projects. You will work at the intersection of biology, physics, computer science, and applied mathematics, leading a multidisciplinary team to develop new insights into collective behavior and swarm intelligence.

This role involves not only scientific excellence but also strong leadership, mentorship, and collaboration across domains. You will work closely with senior researchers and external consultants, shaping our long-term scientific vision while driving hands-on progress.

Key Responsibilities  

• Design, execute, and oversee experimental and computational projects centered on biological systems with collective behavior, especially Physarum.  
• Provide scientific and professional mentorship to junior researchers from diverse academic backgrounds.  
• Collaborate closely with internal and external researchers to integrate ideas and techniques across fields.  
• Take a leading role in writing and reviewing grants, research proposals, and peer-reviewed publications.  
• Contribute to long-term research planning and strategic project alignment within Faunus and Argoman.  
• Present research outcomes to industry partners, funding bodies, and at conferences.

What You Bring  

• PhD (or equivalent experience) in Biology, Physics, CS, Applied Mathematics, or related fields — experimental biology is a strong plus.  
• Strong publication record and proven experience leading scientific research.  
• Advanced skills in scientific writing and grant applications.  
• Experience mentoring researchers in cross-disciplinary teams.  
• Ability to communicate complex scientific ideas clearly to diverse audiences.  
• A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for pioneering biological computation.
