Role Overview
As an AI Product Engineer at Sternx, you will own and ship AI-powered product experiences end-to-end—from problem discovery and solution design to implementation, rollout, and iteration. This role is for someone who can independently drive execution, make smart trade-offs, and deliver measurable impact.
You will work closely with engineering, product, design, and customer-facing teams to turn customer needs into AI features that are reliable, secure, and production-grade.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Execution
- Own a problem space and drive it from idea → MVP → production → iteration
- Define product requirements with clarity (user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases)
- Prioritize work based on customer value, feasibility, risk, and time-to-impact
- Communicate scope, trade-offs, and delivery updates transparently
AI Feature Development (Hands-on)
- Build AI features using LLMs / embeddings / RAG/prompt + tool orchestration
- Design and implement pipelines for:
- Retrieval & knowledge grounding (vector DB, indexing, chunking, eval)
- Guardrails (policy constraints, safety, data leakage prevention)
- Observability (logs, traces, cost tracking, latency tracking)
- Implement production-ready APIs/services for AI workflows
Quality, Reliability & Metrics
- Define and track product KPIs such as: task success rate, deflection, latency, cost/request, hallucination rate, and user satisfaction
- Build evaluation loops (offline + online), including test sets, golden answers, and regression checks
- Ensure AI features meet standards for security, privacy, and enterprise readiness
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with Design to craft usable AI UX (copilot flows، feedback loops، explainability)
- Work with Sales/Support/CS to capture pain points and validate solutions quickly
- Collaborate with Engineering/QA for release readiness and predictable delivery
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering or product engineering (B2B SaaS preferred)
- Strong hands-on ability in at least one backend stack (e.g., Python / Node.js / Go)
- Experience shipping production systems with APIs, databases, and cloud deployment
- Practical experience with AI/LLM systems:
- RAG, embeddings, vector DBs
- prompt engineering + tool calling/function calling
- evaluation frameworks and quality measurement
- Strong product thinking: problem framing, MVP slicing, prioritization
- Excellent communication and ownership mentality (self-driven, accountable)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise security/privacy constraints (PII handling, access controls, auditability)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) و observability stack
- Familiarity with experimentation (A/B tests), analytics, and product metrics
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture
- Experience building internal tooling for AI ops (prompt/version management, eval dashboards)
