Position Overview
Blue Oak is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in gathering, cleaning, and analyzing data to generate valuable insights that drive decision-making processes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for understanding business needs, developing efficient ETL processes, and creating compelling dashboards that support data-driven strategies. Strong SQL skills and the ability to write and optimize queries are essential, and proficiency in Superset will be considered a major plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
- Analyze, organize, and preprocess raw data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Design and implement efficient ETL processes and improve data pipelines for scalability and reliability.
- Build interactive dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Superset, Power BI, or Metabase.
- Leverage descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support strategic decisions.
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition, automation, and process optimization.
- Develop analytics tools that provide insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and key business performance metrics.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data analysis and visualization.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL with advanced query optimization skills.
- Hands-on experience with Python for data manipulation and analysis.
- Expertise with data visualization platforms such as Superset, Power BI, Metabase (Superset is a strong advantage).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and governance frameworks.
- Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Cassandra), and workflow management systems (Airflow, Luigi, Azkaban).
- Ability to work with both structured and unstructured datasets, performing root cause analysis and building scalable pipelines.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to tell stories with data and communicate insights clearly.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master’s is a plus).
