As a BI Team Lead in Sheypoor, you will be a key driver in evolving and enhancing our established data landscape and governance framework. Working closely with business stakeholders, you will not only identify, model, and publish key data that enables business-critical steering but also act as a sparring partner in improving the quality and usability of our reports.
Additionally, you will provide functional leadership and mentorship within the team, guiding the development of our BI Analyst and fostering a data-driven culture. As our business continues to grow, you will ensure that our BI landscape not only supports but also anticipates and leads future data and business needs.
Job Description:
- Design and maintain data models within the Data Warehouse and Tableau (reporting platform), develop and maintain complex central reports that provide key business insights, and regularly audit datasets to ensure high data quality and integrity.
- Serve as a data expert and architect for new technical projects by overseeing data flows, recommending KPIs, and developing tools (such as data sources and reports) that empower business stakeholders.
- Continuously improve our data governance model and documentation, ensuring easy access to reliable and well-documented data, and defining data points, user groups, and transformation processes for an optimal setup.
- Collaborate with Sheypoor’s central Data Team (Data Engineers) to develop new or update existing data pipelines, ensuring compliance with Sheypoor’s data standards and be part of a joint data governance committee
- Provide functional leadership and mentorship to a BI Analyst, guiding their work, developing their skills, and ensuring alignment with overall data strategy.
- Foster a data-driven culture within the organisation by collaborating with business stakeholders to enhance their data skills, while guiding the continuous improvement and evolution of our range of data products.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in designing and/or reshaping data models for large business domains or units, with a strong understanding of column-based database principles.
- Advanced SQL and Python skills and significant experience with Tableau, including managing data sources from various origins, building interactive reports/dashboards.
- Strong analytical skills, a data-driven mindset, and excellent communication abilities with a proven track record of working collaboratively as a team player, supporting senior management and business teams in making data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and execute projects autonomously, with strong time management skills and the capacity to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities effectively.
- Previous experience in providing functional leadership and mentoring to team members is a plus.
- Knowledge of Pyspark, Airflow, and Git are beneficial.
