About the Role
Visa Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Business Plan Writer with expertise in developing
compliant, persuasive, and investor-grade business plans for clients applying under
European and Canadian business and start-up visa programs.
You will play a vital role in helping international entrepreneurs secure their visas by crafting
detailed and strategic business plans that meet the specific requirements of programs such as:
● Finland Start-up Visa (Business Finland)
● Netherlands Start-up Visa (Recognized Facilitators)
● UK Innovator Founder Visa
● Canadian Provincial Entrepreneur Programs (e.g., Alberta Foreign Graduate
Entrepreneur Stream)
The ideal candidate will combine business analysis, market research, and storytelling to create
a compelling narrative that demonstrates innovation, scalability, and job creation potential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Consultation & Ideation
● Conduct structured interviews with clients to understand their business concepts,
background, and objectives.
● Help refine or co-develop viable and innovative business ideas aligned with visa
requirements.
2. Research & Market Analysis
● Perform in-depth research on European and Canadian markets, competitors, and
industry trends.
● Present findings through data-driven insights that support the feasibility and innovation
of the business model.
3. Business Plan Development
● Write clear, professional, and persuasive business plans customized for each country’s
immigration program.
● Highlight elements such as problem/solution fit, innovation, operational strategy, and job
creation potential.
4. Financial Modeling & Forecasting
● Develop detailed and accurate financial projections, including P&L statements, cash flow
analyses, and ROI forecasts.
● Align financial data with the applicant’s investment capacity and market assumptions.
5. Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
● Ensure each plan meets the specific legal, structural, and regulatory requirements
of its corresponding visa program.
● Include ownership structure, hiring plans, scalability strategy, and risk assessment.
6. Collaboration & Feedback Integration
● Work closely with immigration consultants and legal teams to ensure strategic alignment.
● Incorporate revisions promptly based on feedback from designated organizations or
endorsing bodies.
7. Project Management & Quality Control
● Manage multiple client files simultaneously, tracking deliverables and meeting deadlines.
● Maintain the highest standards of clarity, structure, and formatting across all documents.
● Contribute to internal knowledge bases, business plan templates, and best-practice
resources.
Qualifications & Skills
● Experience: Minimum 3 years in business plan writing, business consulting, grant
writing, or a strategic planning role.
● Immigration Knowledge: Experience with business/start-up visa programs in
Europe or Canada (especially Finland, Netherlands, or Alberta FGP Stream).
● Analytical Skills: Strong ability to research and interpret complex data to produce
coherent and persuasive arguments.
● Writing Skills: Exceptional command of written English—concise, logical, and
compelling.
● Communication: Excellent interviewing and interpersonal skills to extract key insights
from clients of diverse backgrounds.
● Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel financial modeling, Word
formatting, PowerPoint visualization).
● Attention to Detail: Consistent accuracy in data, compliance details, and formatting.
● Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand business viability, innovation, and scalability
within immigration frameworks.
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field (MBA
preferred).
