We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Lead to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical leadership, reliability, performance, and security of the infrastructure that powers Invex’s products. You will work closely with DevOps, Development, and Production teams, while also owning infrastructure standards, long-term architecture decisions, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Lead to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical leadership, reliability, performance, and security of the infrastructure that powers Invex’s products. You will work closely with DevOps, Development, and Production teams, while also owning infrastructure standards, long-term architecture decisions, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, operation, and evolution of scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure across containerized and on-prem systems.
- Own and oversee virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, or similar), ensuring stability, scalability, and effective integration with cloud environments.
- Provide technical leadership for networking, load balancing, and storage architectures to maintain high performance and resilience.
- Define and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code standards, leveraging Terraform and Ansible for automation, consistency, and reproducibility.
- Own observability strategy and implementation, including monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar tools.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity and data resilience.
- Lead security hardening efforts, OS patching strategies, and access control best practices across infrastructure components.
- Act as an escalation point during incidents, leading root cause analysis and driving long-term preventive improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps, Development, and Production teams to support deployments, scaling initiatives, and infrastructure planning.
- Define, document, and maintain infrastructure standards, architectural diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Mentor and guide engineers, promoting best practices, knowledge sharing, and technical growth.
Skills & Qualifications
- +5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or systems administration, with experience managing production environments.
- Strong Linux administration and advanced troubleshooting expertise.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, or Proxmox) in large-scale or mission-critical environments.
- Deep proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools: Terraform and Ansible, including ownership of design patterns and standards.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals: routing, VPNs, firewalls, DNS, and load balancing.
- Extensive experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes infrastructure and cluster management is a big plus.
- In-depth understanding of security best practices, backup methodologies, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Proven ability to lead technically, document systems clearly, and collaborate effectively across teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience leading hybrid infrastructure environments (cloud + on-prem) and data center operations.
- Familiarity with storage systems (SAN / NAS / iSCSI) and enterprise backup tools (Veeam, Commvault, or similar).
- Knowledge of compliance and audit requirements for financial environments (ISO, SOC, etc.).
