About the Role:
A software test engineer ensures a software product is high-quality and reliable by designing and executing tests, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with developers to resolve issues. They work throughout the software development lifecycle, using both manual and automated methods to test functionality and user experience, ultimately ensuring the software meets required standards before its release.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute manual test cases for APIs, backend services, and web/mobile products based on software requirements and specifications.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
- Identify, document, and report bugs, issues, and defects throughout the software lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with developers, system analysts, and other team members to ensure a clear understanding and resolution of issues.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for testing and QA processes.
- Continuously analyse and improve existing QA workflows, identifying gaps and proposing optimised solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience working in the QA field.
- Solid understanding of software engineering and software test engineering fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience in manual testing of APIs, backend services and web and mobile applications.
- Analytical mindset, curiosity, and attention to detail.
- Experience with test management tools such as TestRail and Jira.
- Practical experience working with MySQL, MongoDB databases for data validation and test setup.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, Java, or JavaScript preferred).
- Strong application debugging skills and the ability to find the root cause of issues.
- Familiarity with automated testing concepts and automation tools like Playwright, Robot Framework, Pytest.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
